Media Sexploitation, by Wilson Bryan Key, published by Signet, 1977. I just started digging into this and as psychology books go, this looks to be lots of fun.

What’s On The Table, What’s Being Served, by Johnie T. McDonald. A self-published collection of poetry from 1996. I picked up a copy of this rather slender book (considering its subject) at an estate sale yesterday, from the home of the late Johnie T. McDonald. The people running the sale were giving away copies of this and another book by McDonald - a nice gesture, as it seemed that there were many undistributed copies of both books that had been left behind.

Yesterday I paid a long overdue visit to Brooklyn’s outstanding Interference Archive - visiting their beautiful new exhibition space and poking around in the boxes and shelves that are filled with radical riches. I’ll be posting a few casual photos I took of items in their collection. Here is the book Golden Boy as Anthony Cool by Herbert Kohl, with photographs by James Hinton. Published by The Dial Press, New York, 1972

Fire In The Rain, Volume 2, Spring, 1987. Edited by Kathryn H. Greenwood. Cover design by Francis Weaver. A publication of poetry “by the men in the Creative Writing Workshop.” Though it is not indicated, I believe this was produced at Graterford Prison in Pennsylvania.

The Spice-Box of Earth, a book of poetry by Leonard Cohen. Bantam Books, 1968. A 25 cent find from a thrift store in the suburbs of Philadelphia–the last place I would have expected to discover a joyous celebration of tender and erotic love.

Soledad Brother: The Prison Letters of George Jackson, published by Bantam Books, 1970. I remember reading most or all of this book years ago, in college, but I never owned a copy. This book came from the library of McClure McCombs, a Professor of Sociology in Chicago who died on September 5, 2013. I found it at an estate sale at his house in Logan Square.

A find from my trip to Philadelphia earlier in the Summer. Frederick Wiseman, edited by Thomas R. Atkins, Monarch Press, 1976. Anyone that knows me is aware that I’m a huge fan of Wiseman’s great films. He is an absolute American treasure. This old Monarch film book series is also really enjoyable - cleanly designed, cheap, and easy to read books on serious subjects. You can find used copies quite easily and inexpensively.
